The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has published Guidelines on Revised Minimum Capital for regulated capital market entities, issued pursuant to the Investments and Securities Act, 2025.
The guidelines prescribe higher minimum capital thresholds for issuing houses, broker-dealers, fund managers, trustees, and other regulated operators, and set out timelines and compliance requirements.
The reform is designed to strengthen the balance sheets of market operators, deepen investor protection, and align Nigeria's capital market with international regulatory standards.
