At its 305th meeting held on 19-20 May 2026, the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria retained the Monetary Policy Rate at 26.5 per cent.
The Committee also retained the Standing Facilities Corridor around the MPR at +50/-450 basis points, and left the Cash Reserve Requirement for Deposit Money Banks at 45.00 per cent.
The MPC cited the need to consolidate recent gains against inflation and support macroeconomic stability while continuing to monitor global monetary conditions and domestic price developments.
